A meeting between Italy and Montreal, where craftsmanship meets passion

On October 27th, our Montreal workshop had the privilege of hosting a very special guest: Chef Gino D’Acampo, a renowned Italian culinary personality and household name on British television.
Visiting Quebec for the filming of his international cooking show, he made a stop at Viva Panettone to discover our artisanal process and taste the creations that make our brand so unique.
An authentic and inspiring encounter
Behind the cameras, what took place was much more than a television shoot — it was a true meeting of minds and flavors.
Curious, generous, and passionate, Gino took the time to explore every step of our traditional craft. He exchanged ideas with our founders, watched our team in action, and — with great enthusiasm — tasted several of our signature creations.
A tasting to remember
On the menu that day:
-
our Signature Panettone with house-candied citrus peel,
-
our surprising Cacio e Pepe Panettone Sandwich,
-
the indulgent Bec Sucré,
-
and our limited edition Camerise Malilot, made with Quebec’s haskap berries and a delicate floral twist.
Each tasting was a moment of connection — between Italian tradition and Montreal creativity, between the precision of baking and the joy of sharing.
The chef’s favorite

Gino D’Acampo was particularly fascinated by our slow fermentation process, the local ingredients we use, our house-made natural sourdough starter, and the careful craftsmanship behind each loaf.
His verdict? A resounding favorite: the Bec Sucré Panettone — a sweet, bold, and quintessentially Quebecois creation that captured the heart (and taste buds) of an Italian chef.
For our team, this genuine appreciation was more than a compliment — it was a powerful recognition of our work, passion, and mission.
A moment that celebrates Quebec’s artisanal excellence
Beyond the spotlight and the cameras, this visit was a celebration of local craftsmanship — and of the dedicated team behind every Viva Panettone creation.
It also highlighted what drives us every day: our mission to make the panettone a year-round delight, through creative, locally inspired, and artisanal variations that honor its Italian roots while embracing Quebec’s culinary spirit.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Gino D’Acampo and his team for their kindness, curiosity, and contagious good humor.
